OTSA
During 2024 OTSA undertook some detailed research looking into the amounts charged by supply agencies, both daily charges for supply staff and finders fees for permanent staff. We were shocked to find out how little supply colleagues are paid compared to how much schools are charged.
OTSA’s mission to reduce supply costs for schools, whilst paying supply colleagues more has established a partnership with Schools Mutual Services, a non-profit supply and recruitment organisation.
Working with Schools Mutual Services could keep as much as £800,000 a year in Oxfordshire schools, that would otherwise be profit for supply agencies, whilst ensuring that supply colleagues are paid more.
SMS have opened an Oxfordshire office in Littlemore and Jason, Georgia and Jasmine are busy recruiting colleagues to support Oxfordshire and South East schools with their supply and staffing needs.
We are on a mission to change things and ask you to help us with our mission and register with Schools Mutual Services today!
SMS Principles:
- To provide high-quality and reliable support staff and teachers for all schools.
- To ensure fair pay & conditions for the staff employed but to also remain fiercely competitive
- To give back to schools by not taking excess profits out of education
About Schools Mutual Services:
Schools Mutual Services (SMS) is a not-for-profit, mutual supply agency dedicated to education. The business was born out of sheer frustration at the exorbitant margins being made by supply agencies. Nick Hurn OBE, the Chief Executive Officer of Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust is the company’s chairman, and the board is made-up of current education executive leadership. The Board’s primary goal is to ensure valuable resources remain in the sector and pay & benefits are commensurate with colleagues, critical for maintaining quality of education provision.
