The Great SMS Easter Hat Competition – Open to ALL UK Schools!

Schools Mutual Services is delighted to invite pupils from schools across the UK to take part in our national Create Your Own Easter Hat competition! Get creative, have fun, and be in with a chance of winning fantastic prizes for both pupils and schools.

How It Works (Simple for Schools)

  1. Pupils design and create their own Easter-themed hat.
  2. Take one clear photograph of the finished hat.
  3. Upload the photo along with:
    • Pupil’s first name
    • Class
    • School name
  4. Submit before the closing date.


Judging

Entries will be judged by the Schools Mutual Services Board, based on:

  • Creativity
  • Easter theme
  • Originality


Prizes

🏆 1st Place

  • £200 Smyths Toys voucher (winning pupil)
  • £100 Hope Education resources voucher (winning school)

🥈 2nd Place

  • £75 Hope Education resources voucher

🥉 3rd Place

  • £50 Hope Education resources voucher

🎉 Plus national recognition via SMS social media and website.


Key Dates

  • Launch: Wednesday 11th February 2026
  • Closing date: Wednesday 11th March 2026
  • Winners announced: Week commencing 16th March 2026
Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, heic, pdf, Max. file size: 20 MB.

GDPR & Photo Consent 

By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have permission from the pupil’s parent or carer for the photograph to be shared with Schools Mutual Services for the purposes of judging and promotional activity related to this competition.

Only the pupil’s first name, class and school name will be used. No personal contact details will be shared publicly.

Terms & Conditions

The Great SMS Easter Hat Competition – Terms & Conditions

  1. Promoter
    The competition is run by Schools Mutual Services.
  2. Eligibility
    • Open to pupils attending UK primary schools
    • One entry per pupil
    • Entries must be submitted by a school staff member or parent/carer
  3. How to Enter
    • Pupils must design and create an Easter-themed hat
    • A clear photograph of the completed hat must be uploaded
    • Entries must include the pupil’s first name, class and school name
  4. Judging
    • All entries will be judged by the Schools Mutual Services Board
    • Judging will be based on creativity, originality and Easter theme
    • The judges’ decision is final
  5. Prizes
    • 1st Prize: £200 Smyths Toys voucher (pupil) and £100 Hope Education voucher (school)
    • 2nd Prize: £75 Hope Education resources voucher
    • 3rd Prize: £50 Hope Education resources voucher
    • Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available
  6. Data Protection & Photography
    • By entering, the submitter confirms parental/carer permission has been granted
    • Only the pupil’s first name, class and school name may be shared publicly
    • Photographs may be used by Schools Mutual Services for competition promotion
  7. Closing Date
    • Entries must be received by 11th March 2026
    • Late entries will not be accepted
  8. Winner Announcement
    • Winners will be announced via Schools Mutual Services’ website and social media channels
