Schools Mutual Services is seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Stanley on a full-time maternity cover from January.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and committed teacher who enjoys the challenge of upper Key Stage 2 and is passionate about preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school.
Due to the nature of the role, applications are welcomed from experienced teachers only. This position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
About the Role
You will take full responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering engaging lessons that inspire pupils to achieve their full potential during this important stage of their primary education.
This is a true class teacher role, with responsibility for planning, preparation, assessment and the wider responsibilities expected within the classroom. You will work closely with colleagues, parents and the senior leadership team to provide a high-quality learning experience for every child.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum.
- Preparing pupils for SATs and the transition to secondary school.
- Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Completing planning, preparation and marking.
- Attending staff meetings and carrying out full class teacher responsibilities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support pupil achievement.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has recent experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
- Is confident delivering the full primary curriculum.
- Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Is organised, proactive and committed to high standards.
- Can confidently undertake the full responsibilities of a class teacher.
