Year 4 Teacher Job in Shildon | SEMH Experience | £150–£160 per day

Location: Shildon
Start Date: 20th April (until Summer Term)
Pay: £150 – £160 per day
Contract: Full-time

About the Role

Schools Mutual Services are working with a primary school in Shildon to recruit a full-time Year 4 Teacher.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with a Year 4 class with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is looking for a resilient, confident, and experienced teacher who can build strong relationships and create a structured, supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Manage and support a Year 4 class with SEMH needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively
  • Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and development
  • Differentiate learning to meet individual needs
  • Work closely with support staff and SENCO
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Experience working with SEMH pupils
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
