Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term (June – July 2026)
Salary: MPS/UPS dependent on experience

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Consett for a full-time fixed-term position from June until the end of the academic year in July 2026.

This role would suit a confident classroom practitioner with strong experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including working with children who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching to a Year 4 class
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Support pupils with a range of SEN needs, adapting learning appropriately
• Work closely with the SENCO, support staff and external professionals
• Foster a positive, nurturing and structured classroom environment
• Monitor pupil progress and provide effective feedback
• Maintain strong communication with parents and carers

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4
• Strong knowledge and experience of supporting SEN pupils and EHCP provision
• Excellent behaviour management skills
• A flexible, compassionate and patient approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
