Teaching Assistant / LSA Job in Ovingham
Location: Ovingham
Salary: £100 – £112.02 per day
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a school’s team in Ovingham. This role is ideal for candidates with a Level 2 qualification (or above) or a degree, particularly those with experience working with children, a background in sports, or prior Learning Support experience across primary and/or secondary settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with varying learning needs
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management
- Promote pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where required
- Contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (minimum) OR a relevant degree
- Experience working with children in an educational or similar setting
- Background in sports coaching or physical education (desirable)
- Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexible, proactive, and patient approach
