Supply Nursery Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Consett

Pay:£100-£112
Employer: Schools Mutual Services
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 1:00pm (with the potential to extend to 8:00am – 3:00pm)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Ongoing role continuing into September 2026

About the Role

Schools Mutual Services is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Supply Nursery Teaching Assistant to support a nursery setting on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and is passionate about supporting their early learning and development.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping children grow in confidence, develop new skills, and achieve key developmental milestones within a nurturing and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning, development, and wellbeing of nursery-aged children.
  • Assist with the delivery of engaging activities that promote learning through play.
  • Encourage children to develop social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider teaching staff to support daily nursery activities.
  • Help prepare learning resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
  • Support children with their personal, social, and educational development.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children, preferably within a nursery, early years, or school setting.
  • Be kind, caring, patient, and welcoming.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with teaching staff, children, and parents.
  • Be reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic in their approach to work.
  • Have a positive attitude and a commitment to helping children achieve their full potential.
