SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Creative & Autism Support
Location: Gateshead, Consett, Sunderland, Newcastle & surrounding areas
About the Role
Schools Mutual Services is looking for creative, energetic individuals to work as SEND LSAs supporting children and young adults with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) across a range of school settings.

- Actors / Actresses
- Drama Graduates
- Workshop leaders, camp leaders, or youth activity coordinators

Many of our schools use a sensory and play-based approach to learning, making this role ideal for individuals with performance or workshop experience. Your ability to engage, adapt, and bring energy into the classroom can have a huge impact on students with Autism and additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Deliver engaging, creative, and sensory-based activities
- Encourage communication, confidence, and social interaction
- Support classroom routines and transitions
- Work closely with teaching staff to support learning
About You
- Outgoing, engaging, and adaptable personality
- Confident using creative approaches to support learning
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Experience working with young people is beneficial
