Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Durham, Washington and Gateshead
We are seeking committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across schools in Durham, Washington and Gateshead. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
- Assist students with additional needs, including SEND
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage student confidence, independence, and engagement
Requirements:
- Level 2 qualification (minimum) or relevant experience
- Experience working with children or young people
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Previous school-based experience
- Experience supporting SEND pupils
