Learning Manager – Dudley

2 Vacancies Available | Long-Term Secondary School Opportunities
Support Students. Champion Success. Make a Lasting Difference.
Schools Mutual Services is delighted to be recruiting two Learning Managers on behalf of one of our partner secondary schools in Dudley.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a dedicated pastoral team, supporting students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally. If you’re passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive in school, we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re already working in education or have experience in youth work, mentoring, pastoral care or student wellbeing, this rewarding role offers the chance to make a genuine difference every single day.

About the Role

As a Learning Manager, you’ll play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and academic success.
Working closely with students, parents, teachers and senior leaders, you’ll help create a supportive learning environment where every young person can flourish.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing pastoral support to students across your allocated year group.
  • Building positive relationships with students and families.
  • Promoting excellent attendance, behaviour and engagement.
  • Supporting students with social, emotional and wellbeing needs.
  • Working alongside teaching staff to remove barriers to learning.
  • Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing targeted interventions.
  • Supporting safeguarding and student welfare procedures.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
Every day brings something different, making this an incredibly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working directly with young people.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for individuals who are:
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people.
  • Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Calm, resilient and approachable.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
Experience in schools, education, youth services, mentoring, pastoral care, safeguarding or behaviour support would be advantageous but is not essential.
