About the Role
As the Food Technology Technician, you’ll be an essential part of the school’s Food Technology department, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
Working three days each week, you’ll support teachers by preparing ingredients, equipment and learning resources, allowing students to enjoy engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing ingredients and equipment for practical Food Technology lessons.
- Setting up and clearing down practical classroom activities.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering food and consumables.
- Ensuring food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Supporting teachers during practical sessions when required.
- Managing food storage, stock rotation and waste responsibly.
- Assisting with classroom displays and practical learning resources.
You’ll play a key role in helping students develop valuable cooking skills and confidence in a safe and well-organised learning environment.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Well organised and able to work independently.
- Passionate about supporting education and young people.
- Experienced in catering, hospitality, food preparation or a similar practical environment.
- Knowledgeable about food hygiene and health and safety.
- Friendly, reliable and proactive.
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative school team.
Previous experience working in a school is desirable but not essential.
