English Teacher Required – Gateshead
Schools Mutual Services is recruiting on behalf of an independent boys’ school in Gateshead for a passionate and enthusiastic English Teacher.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a school with a strong, supportive leadership team where both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
The role is Monday to Thursday, offering an excellent work-life balance, and is initially long-term with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff.
The Role
As the successful English Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons.
- Plan and prepare high-quality learning activities.
- Support students to achieve their full potential.
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and relationships.
- Work collaboratively with the school’s supportive teaching team.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS or QTLS.
- Has excellent subject knowledge in English.
- Has strong classroom management skills.
- Is organised and able to plan engaging lessons.
- Has a genuine passion for teaching and learning.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
- Provide two professional referees.
- Hold a current DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Submit a full CV with no employment gaps longer than three months.
