Schools Mutual Services (SMS) is a not-for-profit, mutual supply agency dedicated to education. The business was born out of sheer frustration at the exorbitant margins being made by supply agencies. Nick Hurn OBE, the former Chief Executive Officer of Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust is the company’s chairman, and the board is made-up of current education executive leadership. The Board’s primary goal is to ensure valuable resources remain in the sector and pay & benefits are commensurate with colleagues, critical for maintaining quality of education provision.
