KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Role
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm–3:30pm
Wraparound: Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm–5:30pm
Friday: 12:00pm–3:30pm only
Contract: Long-term, ongoing until the school recruits permanently
Pay: Negotiable
Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher
About the Role
Schools Mutual Services is looking for a proactive, positive and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil in Year 4/5.
You’ll be joining a highly reputable school that places a real emphasis on giving every child a positive, engaging and supportive learning experience.
The pupil has complex additional needs and requires a calm, patient and consistent approach. There are no significant behavioural concerns, although they can sometimes be a little stubborn and may need encouragement to remain focused and engaged.
A key part of the role will be breaking learning down into short, manageable tasks, providing plenty of positive engagement and helping the pupil stay on task without creating unnecessary pressure.
Alongside the 1:1 support, the successful candidate will also provide wraparound support Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm–5:30pm.
Who We’re Looking For
The school is looking for someone who will genuinely become part of their team. You’ll need to be:
- Level 3 qualified or above
- Experienced in supporting children with additional or complex needs
- Calm, patient and encouraging
- Confident delivering short, focused activities
- Proactive and willing to use your own initiative
- Keen to get involved and support wherever needed
- Positive and enthusiastic about working with children
- Comfortable asking questions and learning how the school operates
- Able to mirror the school’s approach, expectations and routines
- Organised, tidy and respectful of the classroom environment
- A strong team player
The Hours
Monday–Thursday:
12:00pm–3:30pm – KS2 1:1 support
3:30pm–5:30pm – Wraparound support
Friday:
12:00pm–3:30pm – KS2 1:1 support
There is no Friday wraparound requirement.
This is a long-term opportunity with no confirmed end date. The position is expected to continue until the school successfully recruits to the role permanently.
