Nursery 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Mornings | Consett
Location: Consett
Hours: 8:30am – 12:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term – Autumn Term
Pay: Negotiable, typically around £60 PAYE per morning
Additional Hours: Full-day hours may occasionally be available depending on the needs of the school.
About the Role
Schools Mutual Services is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Early Years team in Consett from September 2026.
This is a long-term morning position for the Autumn Term, working from 8:30am until 12:30pm. There may also be opportunities to work additional hours or full days as and when required.
You’ll be working within a busy Nursery environment, providing 1:1 support while also working closely with the wider EYFS team.
The class has a variety of additional needs, including children with undiagnosed SEND, so we’re looking for someone who is confident, adaptable and able to respond positively to the individual needs of each child.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has strong EYFS experience
- Has experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis
- Is comfortable supporting children with a range of additional and SEND needs
- Understands the importance of children’s first aid and wellbeing
- Is bubbly, lively and enthusiastic in the classroom
- Works brilliantly as part of a team
- Can naturally mirror and gel with the existing Nursery team
- Is patient, nurturing and able to adapt their approach to different children
- Is reliable and committed to a long-term role throughout the Autumn Term
Above all, we’re looking for someone who can bring plenty of positive energy into the Nursery while making sure every child receives the support they need to feel safe, included and ready to learn.
