Schools Mutual Services is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary schools, secondary schools and specialist settings throughout Birmingham.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support children with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and other additional needs
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Help pupils develop confidence, communication and independence
- Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and other professionals
- Record observations and support pupil progress
- Assist with personal care where required and appropriate training has been provided
- Maintain high safeguarding and professional standards
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for caring, patient and committed individuals who have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Experience in schools, childcare, youth work, care or similar settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A nurturing and empathetic approach
- Strong behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A flexible and professional attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, EHCPs or specialist education settings would be advantageous.
