Full-Time SEND Teacher Required in Stanley

Schools Mutual Services is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming specialist setting in the Stanley area for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join the team from 1st September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, initially running until the Christmas break.

The Role

You will be teaching small classes of pupils across Year 7 and Key Stage 2, supporting learners with a range of additional educational needs and lower ability levels. The school provides a supportive learning environment where relationships, consistency and personalised learning are at the heart of everything they do.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about making a real difference to pupils who benefit from tailored teaching and a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Teach mixed Year 7 and KS2 classes with varying abilities.
  • Differentiate learning to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Create a positive, supportive and structured classroom environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN professionals and school leaders.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND or within specialist settings is highly desirable.
  • A patient, adaptable and nurturing teaching style.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
