This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil, helping them engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive relationships through creative and outdoor-based activities.

The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time outdoors, delivering engaging learning experiences that promote wellbeing, independence, and enjoyment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, creative, and making a meaningful difference to a child’s school experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with SEND.
  • Plan and deliver outdoor learning activities that support educational and personal development.
  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing through positive interactions and structured activities.
  • Encourage engagement through sports, physical activities, creative tasks, and child-led interests.
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to implement individual support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help the child remain engaged throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Enjoy working outdoors and delivering active, practical learning opportunities.
  • Be patient, resilient, and able to adapt activities to suit the needs of the child.
  • Have a creative and engaging approach to supporting learning and development.
  • Be confident supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.
  • Be able to build positive relationships and provide consistent support.
  • Hold a full driving licence and have access to their own transport due to the location of the school.

What We Offer:

  • A warm and welcoming primary school environment.
  • Supportive leadership and dedicated staff team.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine impact on a child’s educational journey.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • A rewarding role where no two days are the same.

If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and enjoy creating engaging, active learning experiences, we would love to hear from you.

Start Date: Immediate start available, with opportunities continuing into September.
