About the Role
Schools Mutual Services is working with a primary school in County Durham to recruit a strong, full-time Year 6 Teaching Assistant.
This role is ideal for an experienced TA who can provide general classroom support while also supporting pupils with SATs preparation and booster interventions during this important stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general classroom support within a Year 6 setting
- Deliver or support SATs booster sessions and interventions
- Work with small groups to raise attainment in core subjects
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
- Support pupils’ confidence and exam readiness
- Help maintain a focused and positive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
Requirements
- Experience working in a Key Stage 2 (KS2) setting
- Experience supporting SATs preparation (highly desirable)
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred)
- Strong behaviour management and organisational skills
- A proactive and confident approach
- Ability to support pupils under exam pressure
- DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
