EYFS Nursery Teaching Assistant (PART TIME)

Location: Durham
Start Date: 20th April (until Summer Term)
Pay: From £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours: 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday

Schools Mutual Services is working in partnership with a welcoming primary setting in Durham to recruit a Morning EYFS Nursery Teaching Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners in an Early Years environment, helping to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing start to their school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children within the EYFS nursery setting during morning sessions
  • Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
  • Help with classroom preparation, organisation, and tidy-up routines
  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

Teaching Assistants in similar roles are typically expected to support learning activities, build positive relationships, and help maintain an inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, ideally within EYFS or nursery settings
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
