Primary Intervention Teacher (KS1 & KS2) – Reading & Writing Focus

About the Role
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Primary Teachers to deliver targeted reading and writing interventions across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) in a variety of primary schools across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and Spennymoor.

This role is ideal for teachers who enjoy working with small groups of pupils and making a real difference in helping children develop strong literacy skills and confidence in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver focused reading and writing interventions to small groups or individual pupils

  • Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 to improve literacy skills and close learning gaps

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCOs to support pupil progress

  • Track and monitor pupil development through targeted intervention support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2

  • Strong knowledge of literacy teaching and intervention strategies

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)

  • A patient, supportive and adaptable teaching approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
