World Teachers’ Day: A Big Thank You to Our Teachers
There are some jobs where it’s difficult to switch off at the end of the day. Teaching is definitely one of them.
There are lessons to plan, books to mark, questions to answer and a classroom full of different personalities, abilities and needs to support.
And then there are all the things that don’t appear on the timetable.
The quick chat with a pupil who’s having a difficult day. The encouragement given to someone who doesn’t quite believe in themselves yet. The excitement when something finally clicks. The countless little moments that teachers probably don’t think twice about, but that can mean everything to a young person.
That’s why, this World Teachers’ Day, we simply want to say thank you.
It’s About So Much More Than Lessons
We all remember certain teachers from our own time at school.
Maybe it was the teacher who made you laugh. The one who spotted something you were good at. The one who pushed you when you needed it or made you feel like you could actually achieve something.
That’s the part of teaching that can be difficult to measure.
Of course, education is about helping pupils learn and progress, but it’s also about building confidence, creating opportunities and helping young people discover what they’re capable of.
And that happens every single day in schools.
