Secondary School Teacher

Location: Gateshead, Sunderland, and Washington
(Working across secondary schools in Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, and Sunderland)

We are recruiting passionate and dedicated Secondary School Teachers to work across a range of secondary schools in Gateshead, Sunderland, and Washington. This opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers seeking flexible, rewarding work while making a positive impact on students’ learning and development.

You will deliver high-quality teaching in line with the national curriculum, maintain positive learning environments, and support pupils in achieving their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum

• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback

• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

• Manage behaviour in line with individual school policies

• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership teams

• Fulfil safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times

• Participate in CPD, training, and staff meetings as required

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Experience teaching at secondary level (ECTs encouraged to apply)

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Flexibility to work across different school settings

• A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
