Looking for More Flexibility in Your Teaching Career?
Are you a qualified Primary School Teacher in Oxford looking for a better work-life balance, more flexibility or simply a fresh teaching opportunity?
Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for a change, returning to the classroom after a career break or exploring supply teaching for the first time, Schools Mutual Services would love to hear from you.
We’re recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary School Supply Teachers across Oxford and the surrounding areas, offering opportunities to work in welcoming local primary schools.
We understand that every teacher’s circumstances are different. Some want the freedom to choose when they work, while others are looking for a consistent, long-term placement where they can become part of a school community.
Whatever your next step looks like, our team is here to help you find opportunities that suit your experience, availability and career goals.
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for teachers who genuinely enjoy working with children and want to make a positive contribution to their education.
To be considered, you’ll need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
- A good understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- The confidence to adapt to different school environments.
- A positive, professional and flexible approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils’ development.
- An enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to complete the necessary checks.
Experience across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 is welcomed.
You don’t need previous supply teaching experience. If you’ve been working in a permanent teaching position and are considering making the move into supply, our team can guide you through the process.
Why Choose Supply Teaching in Oxford?
Supply teaching offers something that can sometimes be difficult to find in a permanent teaching role: more choice over how and when you work.
For some teachers, that means choosing a few days each week. For others, it means gaining experience in different schools before deciding where they’d like to settle long-term.
Working as a Primary Supply Teacher can give you the opportunity to:
- Take control of your working week with flexible placements that fit around your commitments.
- Explore different schools across Oxford and Oxfordshire.
- Build your experience across different year groups and classroom environments.
- Find a better work-life balance without stepping away from the profession you love.
- Discover long-term opportunities that could lead to a permanent teaching position.
Whether you’re looking for regular work or occasional supply days, we’ll take the time to understand what works best for you.
