Contract: Full-time, long-term supply with potential to become permanent

Schools Mutual Services is seeking an organised, approachable and committed Learning Manager to support a mainstream secondary school in Dudley.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to progress from temporary to permanent employment for the right candidate. It would suit an experienced education or pastoral professional who can build positive relationships with students and provide effective support for their learning, engagement and personal development.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching, pastoral and senior leadership teams to help students overcome barriers, improve participation and make positive progress.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience supporting young people within a secondary school or similar setting.
- A good understanding of the barriers that can affect learning and engagement.
- Strong behaviour-management and de-escalation skills.
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with students.
- A calm, consistent and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The confidence to work with parents, carers and external professionals where required.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Resilience, reliability and sound professional judgement.
- A commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people.
A teaching qualification is not essential. Applications are welcomed from experienced Learning Managers, pastoral professionals, learning mentors, behaviour-support staff and candidates with relevant transferable experience of supporting young people.
