This is a part-time opportunity working every Tuesday and Thursday. The role will continue until at least the October half-term, with the potential to be extended.
The provision supports pupils with additional needs who may have found it difficult to engage or succeed within a mainstream school environment. The successful teacher will understand that progress can take different forms and will combine strong English subject knowledge with patience, consistency and a relationship-led approach.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS), or an appropriate equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong English subject knowledge and experience teaching at Key Stage 4.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs or within alternative provision, SEND or a similar setting.
- Effective behaviour-management and de-escalation skills.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach.
- The ability to adapt lessons for different needs, abilities and starting points.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Resilience, flexibility and sound professional judgement.
- A commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people.
Applications are welcomed from experienced English Teachers and Early Career Teachers who have the confidence, adaptability and commitment needed to work successfully within an alternative provision.
