Contract: Temporary / Exam Period
Pay: £13.00 – £17.00 per hour

Are you an experienced Exam Invigilator with previous professional experience scribing for pupils during examinations?

Schools Mutual Services is currently recruiting experienced Exam Invigilators & Scribes to support secondary schools across the Dudley area during the November 2026 examination period.

This opportunity is specifically suited to individuals who already have hands-on experience working within an examination environment and understand the importance of following examination regulations, maintaining confidentiality and providing appropriate access arrangement support to pupils.

As an Exam Invigilator & Scribe, you will help ensure examinations are conducted fairly, securely and in accordance with the relevant procedures. When working as a scribe, you will accurately record a pupil’s dictated answers without prompting, influencing or assisting with their responses.

Essential Experience – Please Read Before Applying

Applicants MUST have:

  • Previous professional experience as an Exam Invigilator.
  • Previous experience scribing for pupils during examinations.
  • Experience accurately recording a pupil’s dictated answers without prompting, influencing or assisting with their responses.
  • A good understanding of examination procedures and the importance of maintaining a controlled examination environment.
  • The ability to follow instructions, procedures and examination regulations carefully.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A calm, professional and reliable approach when working with pupils.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.

Please note: General experience working in a school or with children will not be sufficient for this position. Applicants must have previous professional Exam Invigilator experience AND previous experience working as a scribe during examinations.
