Schools Mutual Services is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dependable Learning Support Assistant to join an excellent secondary school in the Durham area.
This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity supporting an individual pupil on a one-to-one basis. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to help the pupil access learning, develop confidence and participate positively in school life.
The school is a welcoming, co-educational secondary school with a friendly and supportive team of staff and managers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
We are looking for someone who has:

- Good classroom and behaviour-management skills.

- A willingness to learn from experienced school staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people.
Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant would be beneficial. However, applications are also welcomed from people with suitable transferable skills and a genuine desire to begin or develop a career in education.
A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. Where appropriate, Schools Mutual Services can signpost candidates to training providers to help them develop their skills and work towards a relevant qualification.
