What you’ll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum, with a focus on Year 2 learning outcomes
  • Supporting pupils in their academic, emotional, and social development, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and foundational knowledge
  • Creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom where all children feel safe, valued, and inspired to achieve their best
  • Using formative assessment and feedback to tailor your teaching and support progress
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support individual needs and contribute to whole-school development

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified teacher with (or working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ideally with experience or a strong interest in Key Stage 1
  • A passion for early education and a belief in fostering a positive, encouraging environment for every child
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills, with a reflective and collaborative approach to teaching
  • A commitment to professional development and contributing to a thriving school community

Safeguarding

At Schools Mutual Services, we regard safeguarding as a top priority. All staff must have a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to undergo the application process through ourselves. We also require valid education safeguarding; we provide this completely for free.
