We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with a Level 2 or Level 3 SEN qualification to work with the class teacher supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The Teaching Assistant will be given a full brief on the first day of arrival for this long-term full-time post. Part-time applicants may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist SEN students in their daily activities and learning tasks.
- Support the teacher in implementing individual education plans for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students with autism during classroom activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Utilise effective communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
- Help with toddler care and supervision as needed.
To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant position in Durham, you will be required to have the following:
- A recognised UK teaching qualification or Level 2 or Level 3 equivalent
- Experience working with children
- Able to commute to Durham
- A current DBS Certificate or willing to undertake an application
- Have the right to work within the UK
